Now thinking we may buy a new dryer. So what would anyone recommend? Would love a Miele but not at the price.
Depends on a few things. Now thinking we may buy a new dryer. So what would anyone recommend? Would love a Miele but not at the price.
I started to look but having done some research I realised a heat pump/condenser drier would not suit the way I use one .
I often air dry until just damp and then finish them in the drier to get the wrinkles out and to soften up the fabric. It was not recommended to use one in this way. Also my chinos just get a 15-20 minute tumble to get the creases out then get smoothed whilst hanging and air dried.
Trouble for me is that are very few non condenser dryers available.
Vented dryers are almost gone now, they are just too energy inefficient. I think theres 1 possibly 2.I started to look but having done some research I realised a heat pump/condenser drier would not suit the way I use one .

Thats the one I have used many times. They do reverse, but the fan impellor is mounted on the end of the drive motor so when it reverses the heat is cut as there isn't as much air flowing over the element assembly. As a result, the reversing is more to just try and unball things. Most dryers are like it now. That is a good dryer though overall.Have seen this one https://www.bosch-home.co.uk/en/product/washers-dryers/tumble-dryers/heat-pump-dryer/WTH85223GB. Umm, not sure if it reverse dry
