My modem arrived this morning and was set up in less than 2 minutes and I was flying around the net in less than 5 minutes.

Its so fast I can't believe it

All the slow issues and non connections obviously were more BT related as my readings when I hover over the wireless icon are now 21.5 Mbps (14 with BT) and the strength in Very Good (Low with BT), a stark difference to that from BT.

£10 a month, great value & service.

I'm a happy chappy again :whoo:

I'm with EE too and have just done a test and I get 2.38 :(

Constantly at 58.0 now, never had so many tabs open at the same time, its so fast ;)

Best thing I did was changing and cheap as chips as well.

Not sure why yours is so slow, they say when its first fitted it can take time to get to an optimum speed, has yours been fitted long?

Also, when I rang through and ordered, they checked my coverage against my post code.

My download speed with BT from the start of December to the start of January was 0.17 Mbps! They finally admitted there was a problem and got my speed up to 0.73 for 3 whole days. It has been rock steady at 0.48 since - they are looking into it.

The joys of living in rural England.

His will be that slow because like most of us he still doesnt have access to fibre broadband and has to put up with a max of 4 or 5Mbps. Be grateful youve been upgraded, would make my life a darn site easier if they did it here (I work from home online most of the time!)

I live in the sticks and our exchange is miles away plus it only has a few lines on it. Ironically there is a high speed fibre optic cable running along the road less than 50 yards away from the house but we cannot use it.

can't get fibre if next to the exchange as its EO (exchange only)cable fed only so no PCP (cabinet) :p

we have fibre but they have done the cab before and after mine.. gits. Good job I still get ok speeds on standard copper
