Have any of the Forumers been to Dunston Hall recently? What were the greens like?

I ask as I am going there for a 3-day break with the society next week. We had originally booked in 2008 but had to delay for a year after the greens were damaged - all 18 were diseased...possibly sabotage by a disgruntled greenkeeper? Anyway, we're going for sure this time on 1st-3rd May and hope the newly laid turf has settled down ready for us hackers to churn it up again.

There's 32 of us and we're playing our usual formats; 54-hole individual stableford competition and a 16-a-side Matchplay team game - combined stableford on day 1, fourballs on day 2 and singles on day 3. Can't wait!

 okay, this was a thinly veiled brag! Only 10 sleeps...Yesssssss! But I genuinely do wonder about the greens...though I am sure we'll not be that bothered as long as they have lager and are within a few miles of a decent curry - recommendations very welcome btw

Dunston Hall is just up the road from me and I know a few members there.

You were right about the greens being 'sabotaged' last year , some weed killer mysteriously appeared on all of them when the green keepers top dressed them or something suchlike.

They have recovered now from the word on the grapevine although I havnt been there to check personally. I'm sure a quick call to the pro shop would confirm this though.
