Anyone played here?

Good offer on the groupon app today for a days golf, bacon sandwich and drink for 2 for £19.

From the site it looks a really nice course and a bargain but was just wondering if anyone had played it before.

That is about the correct price for the course.

Nice enough layout but personally I wouldn't pay any more than that. The food is always good there.

Really? Is it not in that good condition or something?

Still think I'll have a look up as it's only going to cost £9.50 for a days golf and a bacon sarnie and a drink.

Nothing wrong with it but each time I play there it costs me nothing so I would never wish to pay for a round there as it isn't a favourite of mine.It gets some great coverage in golf publications but mainly because it has lovely views, take those views away and I am sure it wouldn't get any press coverage as the course, both conditioning and layout,is IMO run of the mill. Anywhere is worth a bat at that price though.

Agree with the comments above. i played there in constant rain and yes lovely views but the rough was very penal. If your ball just strays off the fairway be sure to get a line otherwise you will lose many!

Ah right, I'll have a look up and anyway and like you say for the price it be a shame not to pay a visit.

Do you know what alnwick castle GC like just down the road? As I'm going to play there on Monday on another one of the cheap groupon deals.

Bamburgh is worth a try, very pretty and a bit quirky, seahoses too, not to mention Goswick a bit further north.

The Alnwick castle is a lovely course!

The first 6 are really nice and 13 to 18 are lovely. Anything in the middle section is fairly normal, but in great nick and the management are 10* its ok my shortlist for membership

Sounds good then!

Is the course much of a trek round as we have booked to play 36 holes as the deal was for an full day pass and was considering lending me old mans trolley if it's going to be hard walking course.

With out a doubt!! I'd even consider a buggy, I like the walk and normlly do a trolly but its a hilly and bumpy and hilly course! You will love it. Arrive early for your bacon sarnie because each one is cooked fresh

Think I'll take a trolley and carry for the first 18 and see how I am. I'm fit enough and I've always carried so hopefully I should be alright.............
