Driver Loft Tolerances

I have been reading an article that says when you buy a driver and it says 10.5 on the side it could be anything but. I always thought loft would be fairly precise but it appears different manufacturers have different tolerances.

Anybody know what they are or what they should be ?

Are you referring to tolerances in manufacture or differing manufacturers' ideas regarding how to loft ought best be measured?

Just manufacturer tolerances. Eg Would Callaway make a driver with 10.5 stamped on it but if it was measured it could be 11.5 or 9.5 ?

i`ve got a g10 7.5 had it measured and it`s spot on , that`s ping :p

How was it measured ? Manually using one of those protracter type devices or by Laser ? and who measured it ?
7.5 thats a tour pro driver

It was measured on how many worms it killed as it hurtled along the ground at a great rate of knots :D.

Each manufacture has tolerance of 0.5 degree either side.

nice one steve- i had it measured in the custom fit centre in st.andrews driving range actually - monty and stevie gallagher get`s there club`s looked at in there so it`s 100% sound. killin worms - love it ! :D gcd

Had a ping g2 8,5 and always had a mega high flight. Was advised by quite a few that PING are one of the worst for claiming lifts on drivers, and my 8.5 would be more like a 9.5 or even a 10
