Apologies for the terminology Yes the club plays medals as three balls What is your opinion of the the two balls that joined together to make a four ball being disqualified ?

DQ at ours .
You are not allowed to join up.

Why would it have to be in the terms of competition, when the RoG adequately cover it.

The penalty for changing your group without approval is disqualification [Rule 5.4b] but perhaps you are referring to something else?
