as in ...frankie dettori do you realise how lucky you are?if you'd ridden something with two wheels and pedals instead of with four legs you might never have won anything!!(you'd have been stripped of titles)

double standards for some sports.while i accept that cycling has a reputation for drug taking(recreational or performance enhancing its still drugs and illegal)it seems the penalties for falling foul of the laws in cycling far out weigh the penalties if you compete in a more main stream sport.

andy murray(recently)and i think gary player have both hinted at drugs in tennis and golf.wonder whats gonna happen when the first big name player gets found out,or for that matter the first big premiership player!!!

Is what Frankie took a "performance enhancing" drug?
I know Jockeys have to be fit - not ridden a Horse in, ooh, 45 years probably - but the main performance comes from the Horse doesn't it? If you're a Cyclist then you are the only power than propels the bike - apart from good old Gravity - but in Horse Racing/Motor Cycling/F1 you're just steering and feeding the power in at the right time.
Not sure what he took would actually enhance that would it?
The illegality is largely irrelevent when it comes to the stripping of titles. Taking steroids (probably) isn't illegal but can get you kicked out of most sports as it enhances your performance. Doing a line or shooting up is illegal and could land you inside but won't necessarily enhance your ability to perform during a sport - probably the opposite in fact.

I understand where your coming from, but to me they are different.
Taking performance hancing drugs with the intention to decieve and deprive others.is imo
totally different to taking recreational drugs.
Its a tough one for the authoritys to administer a punishment for Frankie thats going to
effect his future in the sport.
A lifetime ban? not for me.
I think it being out in the open, and the hurt he will has caused his wife and kids is bad enough.
Albeit there is no excuse for taking drugs.
Thats the trouble though with people with too much money, they will look for something thats gives
them a bigger buzz than having millions in the bank.

Thought he got bust for cocaine use so not exactly a performance enhancer in the realms of Armstrong. I think it is a fair outcome. I know that they have introduced random urine testing on the tour. I am sure sooner or later someone will get done (probably a recreational drug) but I hope no-one goes overboard. It is in all walks of life whether you choose to accept it or not

Don't be silly ... how could the horse get into the toilet cubicle and get it's nose onto the cistern??

Honest, some people are so silly!!
