My local branch is the "flagship" huddersfield store. I was chatting to a staff member during a putter fitting and asked him about the take over by Sports direct. He said he was "very happy and exited about the future and the direction Mike Ashely is taking them". You know when the interview people in North Korea and they go on about the glory of Kim Jong Un in a very scripted way?, well it was kina like that.

yep, I was in MK and I thought I would look in on the way past today and the shutters behind the windows were down. All signage gone except for a the former Nevada Bob sign on the window.

Even less retail options for us Lincolnshire folk. Isn't AG in Lincoln is now the only non pro shop retailer in the County ?

Yes but the range where Direct Golf were based are saying another Golf retailer is moving in immediately.

I don't think so, it wouldn't surprise me if AG moved in. There current shop is OK but having a range to try clubs has got to be 100% better.

Our local branch on the Wirral is closing down on the 18th June, sadly most of the stuff in the sale is Sports direct crap.

Nothing changes then. I regularly maintain that there is a huge retail opportunity , especially in the North of the County, for someone to make hay.We have such a density of golfers and courses and no one to serve them competitively.
