1st day off work today after a relatively short shift on so I thought I'd take advantage.
So I had 100 balls on the range, just getting my swing going and then hammering the short game 100y and in.
(I wouldn't normally do 100 balls before a round but felt up for a short game session before my round)

Following the 100 balls I went and had a round, played better than I have done recently and was good to see some progress.

After a spot of lunch I then proceeded to spend 3 hours on the range working some swing changes in with my grip and stance. Must of hit 250 balls this afternoon and really felt like I had made some serious progress on my game, ready for the season ahead.

Sorry to bore everyone but when you go back to basics and iron problems out it feels good if you've made progress.

Oh and I think I'm addicted to golf again which was the complete opposite before Xmas. Happy days :)

I'll be back down the range for a bucket of 50 before my round in the comp this morning. Fingers crossed everything will be fine.
Also I have a betterball match on Sunday. It's me and a mate vs the captain and pro. The pro is 2003 Ryder Cup player and 2006 Ryder cup vice captain Peter Baker. Really looking forward to this one, I speak to him all the time and he's sound as a pound but to play a round with him will be awesome.

I find as with most sports, hobbys my best comes towards the end

football... a bit tentative slow off the pace, by 60 mins I am in the zone and as a left back rampaging forward, tackling like a man possessed etc etc

fishing... strat slowly then get into the zone and by the end of the day bagging up and dont want the sun to go down

snooker/darts... after a few rusty practices, halfway through a game it clicks and I find my range, angles etc

golf... back 9 I lose the nerves, thinking too much and putting too much pressure based on the previous range time and 'progression'

good practice followed by warming up properly is deffo the way forward if you want to get the best out of yourself
