Day Out At Lydd Golf Club - 28/02/09

Booked a 4-ball for myself, HTL, Leftie & Homer, tee-time of 11:00 am with pre-golf breakfast.

The cost is £100 for the 4 golfers.

If any of you guys fancy coming along and making up a second 4-ball let me know and can book it.

Should be a good day on a challenging course, with all year greens and tee's.

I am really pleased with the deal we got, it is spectacular value I think for what, as I remember, was a very good course.

When I saw Lydd, I guessed Wales.....and was going to put my name down.

My guess it was down the road from Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyll-llantysiliogogogoch

Damn.....I had visions of the great mwj golfing in Snowdonia.

I said yes to this before I looked at the course. I'm glad im lying down! It is NASTY water and trouble all over the place, with the big sticks needed of tees on several holes.

Should be interesting with my current form off the tees.

Got it loaded into SC. Found a decent B&B in Rye so HID is happy and can't wait. Thought I might get there about 9.45-10 and hit a few on the range before brekkie

I shall be on the range also homer, need to warm up for sure as I can be a slow starter.

Just play off your usual handicap mate.

It is a hard course at the end of the day and new to all of us so no need for sporting adjustments I would suggest.

Current forecast for Lydd Airport is 13mph winds with sunny intervals.

HTL normally plays of 28 when he's with me!!!!!! Actually if I'm being unbiased (honestly) I gave him 22 at Ascot and Downshire but he may be one or two more than that

He told me when we first played he was off 22. As he hasn't given me any proof otherwise thats what he has used. We played the Downshire recently and we halved and I was playing pretty decent stuff so it seemed about right (and he hammered me at Ascot last time he was there!!). I think its up to Kent and HTL himself to come to a mutually acceptable number

Looking at the the course and considering I will not have played since the London club meet I reckon 26 will suit me fine.

I will try and play Friday and take whatever I shot over par as my handicapp on Saturday.
