Darren Clarke

Nice to see him doing well, and smiling, always easier to do when your playing well but hes obviously in a good frame of mind.Rory and sergio had the worst of the weather, but it looked liked they wanted to be in the warm.Fowler on the other hand took the conditions in his stride, and he looked like he was up for it.

I agree with Murph that his putting wasn't great. If he'd made those short ones on the front nine he'd have a healthy cushion for tomorrow. Mind you with a forecast similar to today then if he controls the ball as well as he did today then (please god) he'll have a chance

88 putts is bad is it? :D

Hardly when you consider he has hit 72% of greens (average is 55%).

He missed a couple of shortish ones early doors today but holed plenty of testing ones especially back nine.

So in short he can win putting much the same as he has over the 3 days yes.

Trouble is, he is missing the shortish nervy ones. Ok, the middling ones are going in, and he is lag putting well, but no point in lagging it, if you subsequently miss. Pressure will mount tomorrow.

Would love it if he won though.

34 putts today but 16 greens in regulation in that weather, long putts are never gimmes so obviously he is going to have a fair amount of two putts, all week he has had 2 three putts which were today. Id happily take those stats.
DC had 16 greens in regulation and 34 putts shot 69
DJ had 11 greens in regulation and 27 putts shot 68
RF had 11 greens in regulation and 27 putts shot 68
TB had 10 greens in regulation and 27 putts shot 71

The above shows that the rest of the guys in with a chance and shot a decent score today wasted their shots elsewhere.
