Damn our Pro!!!!!!

I have been trying a few different iron, as you do.
Anyway I was talking to our pro, think it was last week. Told him I liked the look and feel of the Mizzy JPX800s. He said I will see if I can get hold of a few of them for you to try(I'm a lefty). Ok say I and forget about it. Anyway he rings me you."Got a couple of clubs for you to try" So trip to the club yesterday. Try the JPX800 on the practise ground, a few little pointers from the pro, I'm hitting them like a dream. He then says the dreaded words "try these" And brings out a Mizzy MP69. What a lovely club. Pure golf porn at its best. I will never hit those says I. Just try them says he. So I did. They felt so smooth about a half club less in length than the JP's. But oh so much nicer the feel out of the sweet spot(when I found it). Panic, what to do now? Will I fall out of love with them if I buy when on the course. Or go for it and just take the view. When your playing well you can hit them. When your playing badly it does not matter what irons your using, its you not the club.

Help. as I said damn pro.

go for it, you only live once so why not :D

my new mantra in life hence just bought a few clubs I was hankering after but held off for too long.

If you get the JPX your mind would be thinking 'these are ok but, damn those 69's were sweet'

Re: Damn our Pro!!!!!!

Don't blame your pro.
It's not his fault you're using the wrong irons and not fulfilling your potential.
It's not his fault he went to all that trouble to find these fantastic clubs for you
And it's not his fault you will never know how low these superb clubs could get you unless you buy them NOW !!!

Re: Damn our Pro!!!!!!

Always have to blame someone. Never my fault, so it must be his. Our pro is a great guy really always seems to go the extra mile(as you do with us on here). Damn they are lovely clubs. None of this silly paint or plastic. Just pure clean hitting machines. Its like comparing a Bentley to a moggie 1000.

Being realistic I will not be a single figure golfer. Don't hit it far enough. Yes I can do it when my short games on fire. But to many holes I cannot reach in regulation.Chip/pitch and 1 putt will not happen that often.

Re: Damn our Pro!!!!!!

just because you wont reach single figures does not mean you can't have the bestest, nicest gear :)

What is the percentage saying so far? I reckon 70/30 for the 69's

Re: Damn our Pro!!!!!!

Even our Bobs saying go for them. He has more faith in me than I have.
I played to single figures when in my youth. But age and injury have taken there toll. For example I drive between 200/220 thats all. Mind you I rarely miss the fairway and when I do its only just in the first cut.

Re: Damn our Pro!!!!!!

MP 69, even I wouldn't go for those. Wouldn't fancy trying to hit them on a cold winter (July) morning. Look nice though.

Re: Damn our Pro!!!!!!

Looks that way Greig lol. I play TM Forged CBs at the moment. So will hang on to them for the bad days methinks.

I am almost at the opposite end of that plane. I play Mizzies but kinda like the look of the TM CB's...
I do honestly believe that there is no better feeling than a forged Mizzy iron catching it sweet though.

Re: Damn our Pro!!!!!!

Stick with your current set.

Or, buy something you know will suit your game. 69s are a lot of club. They'll be in the for sale section by Christmas.

Re: Damn our Pro!!!!!!

Most of the Mizzy tour pros wont use the mp69s because they aren't forgiving enough. The Taylor Mades you have are excellent clubs.
