Midnight...

ye seemed like a good idea at the time, I've hardly used it

The forks on cx bikes are a bit firmer than a road bike so can put up with bumping up and down kerbs better than carbon firbe ones, plus disc brakes are always better than cable vbrakes.

Thanks for the info mate

Pop in to the Decathlon store in West Quay and have a look at the BTwin Triban 520, excellent hybrid for the money (£430) it gets great reviews. I bought my other half a Specialized which was more expensive but I don't think it's as good.

Cheers for advice , gumtree and bay are out as prob doing cycle2work scheme.
Don't think decathlon are in the scheme unfortunately but will check.

How tall are you, and what size bike are you needing?

Edit:forget what sixe your looking for, how tall are you (hopefully not very;) )

I have a Specilized Crosstrail sport ( disc brakes)
Been all over the country on it There is nowhere it won’t go.
Little heavy but a solid commuter bike.

BTwin are good value for money but have always tended to be pretty heavy frames.

My Triban is considerably lighter than my girlfriend's Specialized.

Spesh have various models, I wouldn't expect a rockhopper frame to be the same weight as an epic frame. All bit companies have budget bikes that come with budget frames/components, smaller companies (BTwin) tend to have only a couple different frames, and yes I know I'm talking about mtb frames but it's the same basis regardless of type.
