In the next couple of months I intend to up-grade my irons.
I have an open mind as to what make to buy and intend to try as many as the fitting centre will allow on the day.
Question, In the midlands where would you go to get the best selection and more importantly, who gives the best advise/ fitting service. Most pro shops around me appear to be pushing the one or two brands that they stock, and that makes me wonder if I'd end up with the best clubs for me or the ones that made the pro shop the most profit. I'm a high handicapper and old enough to realise that high teens is as low as I'm likely to get.
Any recomdations / experiences appreciated.

I went to an independent club maker in Desborough, between Market Harborough and Kettering.
He doesn't do mainstream clubs but those he does do are easily up there with the best.

A fitting session, with no punches pulled is £75, but free if you buy the clubs, plus after sales service for as long as you have them. The session can last as long as you and he feel it necessary, none of these 30/40 minutes and 'next please'

Where do you play Mick, belfry prob the best bet as wide selection, there is a callaway demo day at the range in Loughborough on 22nd with a Nike one a few weeks later and another taylormade one another few weeks after depending on your time schedule for new bats. They also stock mizuno, Nike, callaway and titleist with a fitting room with launch monitor etc my mate got mizzy 3 wood and said service was excellent.

Play at Breedon, live near Coalville so Loughborough is just up the road. Think I've got to go and look at a few pick a brand and then book in for a fitting and take it from there. Trouble is the ones that catch my eye are usually the models aimed at the low handicap golfer. :(
Oh and thanks for the heads up guys.
