I'm off to stay with the folks for a few days next week, and will need some down time to myself to stay sane. They live near Rugby - any course recommendations in the area please? Doesn't need to be 5 star, but equally not a goat track...

Cheers!

rugby has its own golf course, not the greatest but haven't played can only go by hearsay. whitefields is just of the m45/a45, brndon is a decent track about 20 miutes from rugb dependant on traffic.

going the other direction you have ullesthorpe, lutterworth or cosby all within 25 minutes. I have played cosby and its on the list to play again this year

I'm a member at Ullesthorpe and visitors usually say good things about it value and challenge wise. It's been a hard winter but grass is starting to grow now and greens should be getting cut and speeding up.

I played Stonleigh Deer Park the other day and enjoyed it.

Did you play in the friendly against Stoneleigh by any chance ?

I did!

A little on the windy side but most enjoyable, were you playing?

Small world !!!
I played against your captain and another chap (i'm terrible with names) had a really close match, and really enjoyed there company.
That wind was horrendous, made some of the holes really really tough, and even with several layers on i was struggling to stay warm.

I'm trying to remeber who I played with, I think it was a guy called Dave and one of your former captains, tall chap but his name's gone, he was captain when your scratch team won a big competition. We too had a good match but my partner played a blinder on the back 9 and we won on the 16th

You'll have to have a game at my place, I've already offered a game some time to Evesdad (whose course I'm playing in a friendly match tomorrow!)so we could make up a fourball one Saturday if you're interested?

My club Kenilworth is a decent track, could take you around it on the Wednesday or the Thursday if interested.
