I am looking into getting a counterbalance putter as I have missed too many short ones recently (have had a swing with a few in the pro shop and like the stability of the swing), after doing a bit of research I stumbled across the Super Stroke Counter Balance grip (which you can add a counter balance weight screw into). I have a Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Studio Select that I have had for a few years, would it be possible to simply put the couterbalanced superstroke grip on it (with or without the weight screw) and then change the weights on the bottom of the putter for slightly heavier weights?
This would work out at around £75 all in (unless I can find the individual parts below cheaper)
http://www.adoregolfgrips.com/super...-series-counter-core-putter-grip-white-black/ (£26.75)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb...=sports&field-keywords=scotty+cameron+weights (£35 - £40)
I played with a guy on Saturday who had the new counterbalanced Newport 2, which looks great but I would grudge shelling out £280 - £300 for a new one when I already have one similar that I could possibly adapt at a fraction of the cost.
Has anyone tried anything simlar with positive results?
