Council services cuts.

DCB i was up your way yesterday EH20 working, a 'friend' of mines dad is a local councillor. i disagree with your point. my dad does council work to help his community. not further his career or political standing. he has been doing it for 25 -30 years. he knocked back 25k a few years ago to leave!!!! and he has also a debilitating illness but still does it. im not blinkered i know folk are not all like him, but im very proud of him and the thankless work he does

I'm in a similar position to Bluenose10, I work in the finance dept. dealing with payroll and paying external invoices. Currently there are 2 members of staff about to go on maternity leave and we are getting no cover for them when they leave. They guy in charge of our section has been working there for over 20 years and says that there are still the same number of staff as when he started whereas other departments have grown massively, Social Work for example now covers 2 floors. We find out tomorrow what cuts are going to be made.
