Cordless drill.

I only use these for my gear, I swear by the Panasonic powertools brilliant batteries that last a lot longer than the overpriced stuff like Makita/de walt.

Got a few Hilti drills too, just mega expensive.

I’ve still got a Panasonic drill from when I was on the tools, 17 years ago, still works perfect and had loads of abuse!!

On reflection (and weighing) the reason mine feels the same is that the old brushed motor version with the 1.5Ah battery weighs 1.65kg and the new brushless with 4Ah battery weighs 1.7kg. The older drill body is heavier.

I don't doubt that the old drills are heavier but Tashy is buying a new drill and given the choice, the 4Ah battery would be heavier than a 2Ah battery (75% heavier)
I also suggested an alternative drill which I have used for years and would be more suitable for his needs and would save him £80.

So lighter, more suitable and less than half price so maybe not nonsense after all.
All my opinion of course.

@Tashyboy The drill I linked to is the one I used to build the 33'x10' carport below so good enough for average use.
