Cordless drill.

What are you going to be using it for?
Thats a lot of drill to be for what I imagine will be little jobs.
I use Bosch professional cordless drill driver (was badged 10.8v, now badged 12v) and an 18v Bosch professional cordless drill driver. The 18v is fine for heavily torqued bolts, but for nearly everything else the 10.8v is perfect and so much more versatile.
Decent drill bits are the key to easy drilling of holes, and when screwing screws too much force/torque will either see the bits bounce and shred the screw head, or shear the screw.
I would suggest then something like this Bosch 12v combi as you are more likely to find it suitable (unless you go drilling 4 inch holes through brick every day;) )

In essence am looking to buy one, done a bit of research and keep coming across this one at Screwfix. It seems to tick a lot of boxes. But is it any good. Coming in at £150 with two 4.0 batteries. Thoughts please boys and girls.

Drills are like cars you can never have enough power.
I have this drill with the 2.0 batteries on screwfix at £99 and it’s more than adequate.
They have a torque control ring so you can power it down to what you want
They sent me a £10 discount code XMAS19 for over £100 don’t know the end date just try it.

I have the same drill as the OP link. Plus a secondary, older 1.5Ah version. Both weigh about the same so it being "too heavy" is nonsense. The brushless motor and 4Ah makes the difference for me. Still use the older drill now and again but mainly its the new one. Plus, the 4Ah batteries give you more options for buying other XR bare tools. Just bought the circular saw and the multi-tool and both perform way batter with the 4Ah battery over the 1.5Ah.

Thanks for those, Ive tended to use Axminster Power Tools in general.

I only use these for my gear, I swear by the Panasonic powertools brilliant batteries that last a lot longer than the overpriced stuff like Makita/de walt.

Got a few Hilti drills too, just mega expensive.

Looks a good deal; agree with those who suggest it may be a little heavy in use but, it's brushless, has a decent chuck and a couple of batteries.

I stick to the Bosch proeffsional stuff now (blue body) as I've found them the most robust and batteries last almost forever. Had a Panasonic cordless before, but it wasn't as smooth a start and didn't last as long.
I agree on your view re Makita and Dewalt, both of which appear to have dumbed down to attract the consumer user.

Screwfix is just an arm of B&Q btw;)

Thanks for the replies boys..The current drill I have is a black and decker. Had it 20 odd years but the brushes are now going. Cost me some wonga back in the day so it does not owe me owt. 99% of the time it will just be general drilling, but over the years it has had to do some serious stuff so I was thinking the torque and batteries power may well be ideal. Did look at the weight issue but whatever it is. It will be considerably lighter than the drill I have now. Just give me game tickets to cousin who works at MKM so may get staff discount.

Get fitted by a pro you know the drill :ROFLMAO:

10 years ago I bought an AEG drill with two batteries for a property refurb.
It's been used extensively and is still performing as new and both batteries still hold oodles of charge.
