The wife and I have made a slidshow/video of our wedding snaps using a collection of friends and profesional photos. We have put some music over the top relavent to us and from our day. We intended to burn this to a dvd as a keep sake and also to show grandparents who couldnt join us on out day and live a long distance away.

We burned the "video" to dvd but it is an MP4 format and not a dvd format. So wouldnt play as a normal dvd.

Ive got programs where i can convert things to mp3 or other audio files.
Just wondered does one exist for video files? I know in the format it is i think it can go on youtube but we want it on dvd...

Hi Connor, I downloaded a demo program called AVS4You, which changes video format, you can see if it will do what you need it to do by downloading it, it allows video reformatting and displays a banner on the test video.

There downloads of options for video converters, most of which require you to buy them or you can only change the first couple of minutes or it leaves a watermark on the video.

If you know where to look you can get them for free :mmm:

Oh yeah its really just to assess the quality and to see if it will do the job, the banner is right across the centre of the video, there must be others about but that was the one i found.

care to share?

its about a 20minute video i dont know if that matters at all

Easy mistake to make, burning a DVD that writes in computer only format.

Does handbrake allow this? It will take ages (even with a fast PC) but if you are only doing one main dvd, might be worth it.

f.w.i.w. I have an old desktop I use solely for ripping and converting. a) it takes forever and b) I don't trust most of this software.

Format Factory is an excellent multi-purpose file converter - http://www.formatoz.com/ .. you could convert your .mp4 file to .avi and then use Avi2DVDFree - http://www.avitodvdfree.com/ - to create the DVD? I haven't used the latter program so can't recommend it.

I use ConvertXtoDVD to burn media files onto a DVD.. its a paid program, however, so probably not worth the outlay if you're only doing it this one time although it does handle multiple formats.

DVDFlick used to be the benchmark software for file-to-DVD conversions, but it hasn't been updated for years, and later versions were very buggy with out-of-sync audio/video.
