Congratulations to Nick Dougherty!

Personally I’m glad that Dougherty won the BMW International Open, he seems like one of the ‘good guys’ on tour and I can’t think of anyone who deserves the win more than him on the day. He played solid golf throughout the week, and his new putter was red hot! Goosen never really got going and it was a bit of a shame that Langer couldn’t muster up the win, but hey-ho, well done Nick!

On a side note, did anyone else see the back nine from Rafa Echenique? The albatross up 18 was staggering!

Am at work so have been trying to keep up to date with the scoring. Saw that chap had a 62 so checked his round on the european website.... 27 for the back 9...amazing stuff , then on closer inspection I notice the 2 on the last. Got to see that on the highlights later tonight

Congrats to Dougherty , hes had a rough time of it lately but that customised putter seems to have done the trick nicely. 4 very nice rounds of golf...well done

What handicap was he off there - 28????

I missed most of the live coverage through a combination of a late finish of my round and then falling asleep so will be watching Golf Night to see the performance of Doughtery and Enchinique

Thoroughly deserved winner today. Well done Nick Dougherty

Lets hope this can spur Nick on to performing a bit more consistently. He's very up and down performance wise. Glad he's won again.

Too right. I'm a big fan and couldn't be happier for him.

Shaw Hill i belive Mono he turned pro off +4 from there, think was a member at birkdale too,a friend of mine used to play with him has a junior.

Glad he got another win he seems a good lad

I'm certainly another one who is glad to see Nick prosper this weekend. He has shown patches of form for the last couple of years that he really does have the game for the big occasion, however unfortunately he only seems to have been able to string this form together over four rounds on 3 occasions. The three times he has won on tour.

He is a great talent, and his game is certainly moving in the right direction, however I feel he will be another Luke Donald in failing to live up to the expectation his obvious initial talent created.

Hopefully he does kick on from here and move himself up into the worlds top 50 as he obviously is a great guy, with an excellent work ethic and a real desire to achieve. His game is probably capable of more, but cementing himself as a regular major attendee would be enough for Nick to consider his career a success in my opinion. I unfortunately just can't see him ever really dominating / challenging the top sectors of the world stage.

As a side note it's nice to see him win using a 2thumb putter grip which I, and other forumers, have recently found an interest in. Even more so now I have agreed to purchase one off of Tony. :D

I am ashamed to say I had no idea he had won!
Watched a bit yesterday but haven't watched any today. Well done indeed, glad to see him win something.

My daughter thinks he's "Pretty hot!!!"

Some witty replies regarding his handicap by the way! :D

I've been slating him recently for not playing anywhere near his potential.

Great result. He can prove me wrong as often as he likes now. I hope this result spurs him on to a higher consistancy for the rest of the season.

So that's at least 3 Brits with some good form coming into The Open. Would it be too much to expect one of them to carry it off ?

Well done Nick, I watched him play at the Irish Open this year and he seems a really nice guy. He always has a smile on his face. My son was lucky enough to be handed his ball, by Nick most of the pro's just throw the ball but Nick handed it to my wee lad, so thats a nice keep sake.
I hope he keeps going forward now as some one said he seems to be one of the nicer guys on the tour. I got his autograph aswell.

Not only can he play golf he's a good looking git awell.

Yeh I was glad he held it together.

Bloody glad Langer didnt win, he has to be the most miserable git Ive seen for a while.
And dont get me started on that shirt he was wearing !!!
