Here goes: My name is Chris and I've done Aimpoint! There I've said it!

And I loved it

Yes, I attended an Aimpoint course in deepest Kent today and I really think it's going to help my putting. There is nothing better than the feeling you've correctly read a putt and you watch it roll and drop. The course was run by the very personable Jamie Donaldson and everyone there were putting better at the end and, to a man, said they were glad to have done it. I know opinions here are devided on its merits but I rolled in putts that I know I would have misread before and I think confidence is half the issue and I felt that I'd make certain putts, and did.

Just got to take it to the course!

Awesome, I'm going to get involved with some of this. Worth doing both courses? Never herd of the speed one.

The speed one is new and is interesting. The idea is that working out the break is ok but if your putting distance control is poor then you really are unlikely to fully benefit from the Aimpoint course

The system is to learn how far back to swing for certain length putts, the tempo is also important and if you have say a 15 foot putt then you should know, a bit like the chipping clock method, to be more methodical and measured

Any mods reading this? I think homer has hacked Chrisd's account 😃

I did the express a year or so ago and it worked well initially ... I was in the first group to do the speed one this side of the pond... Very good .. Probably more useful than the express

Glad you enjoyed it and glad you could finally see what the fuss is about. It's not hocum and really does work and great that it's transferable to any course

It was always my intention HJS to judge for myself. Jamie was great and I bought into the system very early on when putts started to drop. Obviously I'm still to try it at my place and see how it transfers to other courses but I have never been one of the doubters

Sorry Chris, that probably came across more bluntly than intended. Jamie is a top bloke and I've found it very easy to buy into both the original chart read and the express method later on. Not tried the speed course yet. Seen lots about it but not found Jamie doing a course nearby enough to get on it

It didn't come across that way at all, no need to apologise. I just wanted to stress that I wanted to do it, see what I thought and not be swayed with other opinions either way. I share your view on it and I sometimes think that the "anti brigade" would knock it even if someone like, say, Adam Scott could get to world number one using it - ridiculous idea I know!

welcome to the club. No doubt you would of experienced the feeling of as soon as you've hit the putt you know it's in, if not, trust me it will happen.

keep practising the fundamentals, and perseverance and it will pay off. Good luck.

Cheers, I don't think it's going to work day one necessarily but experience is key I think
