Had a lesson today and my coach pointed out I am almost sinking my left foot/side down through impact, which causes a heavy strike. There is often a loud thud after the ball, rather than a crisp clip as the ball is hit.
He suggested I needed to almost feel like my left foot was pushing up before impact. He gave me a drill to swing through without hitting the ball at full speed but then try and stop as soon as possible after, but I'm struggling. Seems alright with that, but then as soon as I swing to hit the ball, *thud*
Can anyone suggest any other drills I can use to try and keep my left side/leg/foot from compressing? I'll try and get the video of the swing so it's easier to see what I mean...
