Comedy what is and isn't funny

My favourite is Dave Gorman, loved the TV shows even when watching them repeated, his stage show was hilarious too.
He is up there for me as well, however, I think he started to overstretch on modern live is goodish. For a series he needs some 8 to 10 hours of material, but it felt like he only got 6ish and the filled the rest with contrived stuff he made happen rather than observations. But live he was great as well. I think he could just fill an hour with found poems.

I listen to the comedians comedian podcast where Stuart Goldsmith interviews other comedians. It’s really interesting how some of them have total different stage personalities compared to real life. Al Murray is obvious, so is Lee Nelson. But others look ‘real’ on stage, but it still is an act. That way they can perform on strange opinion that they don’t really hold, but it is comedy gold. For example, I can’t stand Jo Brand or Johnny Vegas on stage, immediately have to change the channel, but in those interviews the real people seemed quite normal and intelligent.
