Whether you're good at cooking or bad, what 3 course dinner would you or COULD you create? Must be homemade!

Mine would be:

Starter- King Scallop and Black Pudding Salad with Garlic Croutons

Main- Rack of Lamb, Braised Red Cabbage, Honey Roast Carrots and Mangetout

Dessert: Trio of Desserts including Baked Vanilla Cheesecake, Rhubarb and Custard shot glass and Chocolate Brownie.

Put me down for the puddings. Yes! All of them :)

Peanuts to start with some beer to wash them down.

Beans on toast.

Choice of Fruit Corner or Aero Mousse.

I really couldn't be bothered with anything else at the mo.

Guinness starters
Guinness main course (well done steak and garlic sautee potatoes to help the Guinness go down).
Summer fruit pavlova dessert
Guinness apres grub
I think that sums up my nights out

I'm a massive foodie, love cooking :p

Not really a starter or pudding fan but I make a mean curry and chilli.
Chicken Vindaloo I made for a meal night the other week was sublime ;)

Loch Fyne smoked salmon with rocket, vine toms and home made brown bread.
###
Aberdeen Angus fillet steak, new [small] Ayrshire tatties, peas, mushrooms, fried onions, toms.
####
Yonanna [bannana/mango] fruit iced cream

Our house speciality, one the grandkids always ask for, is tomato soup chicken casserole.
Fry off a chopped onion, dice left over chicken, two cans tom soup, sliced potatoes.
Season [black pepper is usually enough as the soup is salty]
Chuck into slow cooker on low for six hours and enjoy. Serves 4
Really simple and yummy. Especially if you are out for the day

I love a good steak.

I would only change the above by making the potatoes in a dauphinoise style and roast the tomatoes (vine tomatos, drizzled in balsamic vinegar, olive oil and just a touch of honey). Make the potatoes sloppy and saucy enough so you don't need a sauce for your steak (which is a cardinal sin).

Have you got a good bog-standard curry recipe which wouldn't be too hot fr youngsters?

PM me your email address mate, I've got a curry recipe or two on my pc as text documents I can send you. Just add as much or little chilli powder as you like for those who like it mild. Don't forget, use red onions and sweat them for about 15 mins until they are soft for an even better curry

Mmmm... Food...

Starter:
Black Pudding and Lancashire cheese hash browns, with caramelised conference pears.

Main:
Black Pudding and chicken terrine with piccalilli and toasted hazelnuts.

Pudding:
Thai Black rice Pudding..

I did a "come dine with me" for the wife last year.

In the end it would have been cheaper to eat out due to all the running around that I had to do and the stuff I had to buy. Great laugh though and need to do it again.

From a book I made the following rather simple meal.

Garlic and chilli King prawns starter (I had to buy a bottle of sherry when I needed a cap full)

fillet steak, dauphinoise potatoes (i cheated and bought these ready made), tomatoes on the vine and asparagus. Didnt have a decent griddle pan so ended up buying one of those - doh.

home made new york style cheesecake (digestive biscuits and packs of philladelphia)

7/10 (but i gave myself 9/10):smirk:

If you don't have the ingredient, just sut something similar in! I have a cake recipe that "needs" a special kind of sherry. I use brandy and some orange essence and I reckon it tastes miles better than it would with sherry

That's the fun of cooking
Mind you I never write down what I do so I can never reproduce it.
