Closed season maintenance

Aaron Baddeley mainly, but also Zach Johnson to an extend, although there are elements of S&T in a lot of Pro golf swings. What they have done is analyse a lot of successful golfers, and tried to chop out the best bits. There is a good podcast about this on the sand trap site.

The pro at my club, Rob Grier, teaches it, its in staffordshire so probably too much of a jaunt for you

as I said in my post a lot mock it but as said in other posts that a lot of pros have elements of it in their game.

Golf is finding something that works for you, thats what makes it such a diverse game. S&T has helped me because of its simplicity. I'm nowhere near Murphs single figure hcp but I also had too much going on and S&T helps me to concentrate on key elements.I get much more solid strikes on the ball and I've lost that weak fade/slice typical of us amateurs. (most of the time anyway)

Baddeley has dropped the S&T Murph, gone back to his original coach who had him as an outstanding amateur I think. Graham Storm is the only other one I know of that uses it.

I like this version instead: Lock & Load :D

I'm loving that swing. I think crouching like that is going to make my thighs burn though. The shorts are a bit gay too. Do you think they are important to the swing, or could I do it in trousers?

You gotta commit to the whole package Murph......in for a penny and all that!!! :D

It's pretty close to what you already have. :p

That move at the end (the flip to the right) has me laughing out loud everytime I've seen that vid. I'd forgotten just how funny it was.

So which golfers are succesfully using this technique for these "results"??

Who cares? :D I think you're missing the point.

There are/have been plenty of players, several victories on the tour and lots of $'s made. If those professional players who have been playing since they were in nappies and make millions of $'s by playing golf can embrace/change to S&T then a 3.5 handicapper who thinks it's a waste of time is no skin off my nose.

I'm not looking to win the masters, what I'm looking for is to hit the ball more solid, if that means following a simple swing pattern that makes my swing feel more compact and repetitive then so be it.

Finding players who get themselves stuck over their right side is almost exclusively reserved for the amateur golfer.

Erm, it's your point and I asked a very simple question about it, one that you haven't answered. It's also no skin off my nose if you want to swing it like Happy Gilmore but as this is a discussion forum, I didn't think it was too unreasonable to ask who uses this technique.

I'm loving everything about this video....possibly one of the "purest" methods I've seen in ages. Ticks some big boxes and more for me.

I look forward to seeing some tour players rebuild their swings in this manner.

Several forum members are already using the modified version of this swing (The Adirondack Sling-Back) to good effect, some even predict themselves to be single figures next year :D
