Hello

I’m on the lookout for some new wedges as currently the gapping at the back end of my bag is plop.

The new RTX-3 are coming out so thinking its maybe a good time to get the 2.0’s and save a bit of cash. The new ones come out in sept

RTX 2.0 are on offer at the moment, I can get 3 for about £175. D
Do you think there will be further reduction on the RTX 2.0s when the new ones come out?

and more importantly anyone gaming these wedges, what do you think of them?

cheers

not got the wedges myself but my regular PP does.

He gets a ridiculous amount of distance with them, he's probably a club bigger with me using irons but he sends his 52 about 30 yards further than mine!

My son has the 52 and 60 wedge of this type. I've used his 52 and it is a lovely club. Well balanced, good from distance and excellent from the fringes off the green. I'm hoping to get one shortly, unlike my son I have to sneak my golf purchases past my good lady. Recommended.

I've just bought the 50 and 56 CB RTX 2.0 for £133.00 custom fitted. The previous models went down to about £50 each if you shopped around but they do tend to hold their prices pretty well. They certainly generate a lot more spin than my old Mizuno MP-T wedges.
First impressions are pretty good.
I'd suggest you have a look at the bounce options to decide what bounce best suits your game. I went with the 2 dot in the end.

they have been on offer for ages, 3 for 2 or buy 1, get 1 half price.

I bought a 50 and a 60 on that basis from affordable golf 4 or 5 months ago. I already had the first gen 54 which I got for £50 in american golf when the 2.0 came out.

Would have thought there is a good chance the 2.0 will come down further when the new model comes out.

I got them a few months back when they were buy 2 get one free, think I payed £170.

Im very happy with mine (details in sig) crazy spin with a tour ball when struck well and often get backspin of a few feet - when I don't need it of course!

the only thing I think I'd do differently is get a higher bounce at the low end, tend to find the 50 very easy to take a huge divot.

The 60 is great for flop shots on a tight lie, very easy to slide it underneath the ball.

Sounds like they are pretty good and they get good reviews. I don't think they will get much cheaper than £56 a wedge. Always bought second hand wedges. Think I deserve a treat!

Im thinking my ap2 wedge is 47.
So thinking go 50 54 58 ? Or should a get a proper flopper at the end and go 60

Just bought a 56 and 60 single dots in the sale. Tried them and vokeys and genuinely couldnt tell the difference so went for the rtx's.

Personally I'd go 52 56 60, I can't quite justify it but I'm thinking if getting the 52 and putting the 50 in the den caddy. There's not a lot of difference in yardage between my pw and the 50
edit, just can't find a 52 high bounce anywhere in stock

See I have a 52 ATV Taylor made at the moment and I just balloon it and don't get on with it. hit it about 85-90 max. Had a 52 before and was hitting it 100. I'd like to get back to that yardage. Suppose need to try them out. But at the moment got nothing at 100 ish. So at present I go 125 to 85 gap. It's not good

I've got the 50 54 58 and very happy with them, especially the 58 which is much easier to use than I was anticipating (never had a lob wedge before).

I have been a fan of the Cleveland 588 Rotex 2.0 for a while and started with a 50, 54 and 58 (54 and 58 low bounce) after a Demo day fitting and I like them so much that I have replaced my TP TP CB PW with a Cleveland 46 Deg and have replaced in the 50, 54 & 58 in the bag with 52 and 58 in a medium bounce as I have found the extra bounce suits my short game better as it has developed. I have tried other wedges, the only ones that came close in my view were the Vokey's but the feel off the face of the Cleveland was much better in my view, and the spin is amazing, for example today I had a 30 yard pitch, slightly down hill, good lie and it stopped within 6 inches of the pitch point.
