Cleveland Gear

I had one of their 2012 fariway woods and I quite liked it. I only ended up going back to my MD as it had a stronger loft. I've just bought a Classic 290 driver, picking it up tomorrow so I'll let you know how I get on. I think I may have been bidding on the same one on ebay that you got. Did it have the indigo shaft?
No not the indigo shaft,I loved the retro look of the club but I found the performance really bad.I put it up against my old Titleist 905T with Adila proto stiff shaft and a Ping G10 with proforce stiff shaft and found they out performed the Cleveland quite considerably,I ended up buying the G10 which was totally impressive.hope the Cleveland works for you though mate....AG are now selling the Cleveland classic driver for £119 new.

I did a fair bit of online research before going for the 290. I really like the retro looks too, so hopefully it'll perform. I guess I'll find out tomorrow. Got it for a deecnt price so I think I could probably get my money back if I did have to sell it on.

Cleveland had largely passed me by before their demo day at the GM Centenary Final at the FOA. Was happily hitting the CG 16 Tour's until close to the tee time and loving it. They are on my bucket list for irons and interested to see what their 2013 offerings play like

588 wedges are superb! The old TA series of irons were pretty good too. Can't comment on their drivers though.

Liking their current stuff a lot. The indoor place I go to is a Cleveland fitting centre as well and so have had a hit with a few things. Got some great numbers with the driver and love the look of their latest series' of irons. Cleveland wedges have always been fantastic, but haven't hit any of the current series.

In all likelihood am going to buy a cleveland putter though. Suits my eye perfectly and is the exact shape I've been looking for. Feels great off the face and nicely weighted.

Big thumps up all round from me.

They make fantastic wedges, great feel and the rtx ones look amazing. They also make other great clubs I remember the halo hybrid was extremely popular, I liked it anyways.
I would say most stuff out there is top draw. Some of it suits some and some of it suits others.

Bought and got rid of quite quickly a Cleveland Classic Driver that I got on ebay.I liked the look of the club but found it totally crap in use.Infact theres not one piece of Cleveland equiptment that ive tried that ive liked. Is T Wogan would say "is it me"...........

Tis you old chap, got a cleve vp1 milled putter in the bag, it's only been there 6 weeks and I think it's the safest club in bag!

Just back from trying out my Cleveland Classic 290 for the first time and I'm impressed. Looks very good and plays even better. Good solid feel with it when you catch one and longer than my old titleist.

Sorry yours didnt work out for you.

I have a 3 wood with the ultralight shaft. I purchased it because I hit it well up AG and it was cheap. I am very impressed with it and might look into getting the equivalent 5 wood.

What shaft has yours got in it mate?

I've got a CG15 52* wedge and love it..... well until the other week when i lost my short game and my temper with it and now it is in 2 bits, got a new Mizuno wedge on the way to replace it but i will get round to fitting a new shaft at some point.

Great shaft  That's what's on my 13 degree 3 wood. Looking for the same in a 5w now ASAP

They are getting rave reviews on the American golf sites. I think are they Cleveland's stock shaft for their woods. From what I've read I think Cleveland woods seem to be a bit more popular in the States than over here and I must admit before I saw the Classic driver it's not a brand of wood I would have been considering.

Think it's you. I used to have a Launcher Ultralite Driver - which I thought was great until I broke it (leaned on it a bit heavily). Bought other drivers after that. But just recently saw a Launcher for sale on Golf Bidder so bought myself another - and the fairway wood too. Got myself an extra 20 yards back.

Tried them at the reader day @ Princes and thought they were quite good, had tried them before, Launcher, CG1, CG3 and was impressed. At the range last night picked up the Classic and couldn't put it back quickly enough. Just didn't look right to my eye, had "Fore left" written all over it.
