Bought and got rid of quite quickly a Cleveland Classic Driver that I got on ebay.I liked the look of the club but found it totally crap in use.Infact theres not one piece of Cleveland equiptment that ive tried that ive liked. Is T Wogan would say "is it me"...........

I think it may be you lol. I have found Cleveland to be a very underated brand, you just have to look at the quality of shafts they are offering in thier drivers, proper premium offerings.
I had the classic and it was a great driver, wrong specs for me but a great low spinning driver. It takes a lot for a club to impress me as I tinker all the time and the last time I was wowed by a club it was a cleveland. The wedges are lovely and have been copied a ton.
But it may just be you don't get on with the brand, fwiw I can't get on with Cally woods or irons.

Almost certainly..
I've owned and used Cleveland gear to great effect in the past.
These days the woods have very light shafts and it's this that may not suit you..

The classic driver came with the Miyazaki stiff tour only shaft which you would have thought was quite a quality shaft but the twist the shaft made on inpact was awfull, unuseable.

I have a cleveland launcher driver that i used for about a year and a half and had no problems at all. It did have a heavier shaft in it tho and once it was re-gripped with a couple layers of tape it worked a treat.

I love my Cleveland 13* strong 3w to the degree I am trying to find a 5w to match with the same shaft.

Very underestimated brand IMO.

I thinkn it must be you.

Some of their gear really is very good and I believe they're an underrated brand. I still carry a couple of their fairway woods and am very happy with them.

Many of their clubs come stock with the Miyazaki shafts. Whether or not a lighweight shaft works for you or not in this lightweight age, the Miyazakis are great shafts and a very expensive option aftermarket.

Cleveland Driver does what it says on the tin.

Fairways up there with the best

Hybrids as good as any.

Not tried the irons, but seen them work very well.

Old 588 wedges were great; CG10s and on less so - for me! Good to see 588 back (and forged).

Putters work well too

I think it's you - and (bad luck with) your choices.

Sister company of Srixon which pleased a lot of their Tour Pros who immediately acquired Cleveland wedges. Also sister co to Miyazaki, so access to high quality shafts too.

I generally like their kit BUTwould have to agree with you regarding the driver. I have the original Classic and the new XL adjustable version, for which I had a fitting, is just as bad so roll on my 913. Maybe you can reduce the weight too far.

The 588 irons & wedges, however, are a different story. Already have the wedges and the irons may soon follow.

The Classic is one of the lowest spin heads every manufactured by any manufacturer.

Whilst that head (with whatever shaft it was sporting) may not have worked for you, the head itself really is excellent. The XL Tour of yesteryear was a low spin head in its time, but the Classic takes it to the next level.

Still prefer my AMP though. :-D

Cleveland wedges are legendary and the Classic range of putters are absolutely top class also.

Not tried any of their woods or irons but the above are definitely worth checking out

I've got the new 588 irons courtesy of GM and Cleveland and love them.

The 4 and 5 irons are a hybrid type so may not appeal to everyone, but all 3 sets of 588 irons have been designed to be interchangable so you can use the style you prefer.

Very easy to hit and I would expect my hc to come down over the next few months (if I can get out on the course that is...)

I love my DST Launcher 3 wood!!! And I was all lined up to buy a set of CG16's till I lucked upon my AP1's

Hit them so well they're a great brand

I stumbled across a second hand Cleveland TL310 driver in the second hand rack at the local range whilst trying out Titleist 913 and ping g25. The Cleveland was £50 and it easily out performed the other 2 for length, dispersion and suitable ball flight.

Its not a driver I would of ever thought of looking at TBH but at £50 I'm glad I did.

I've also got to say that I really like the look of the new 588 irons, Cleveland really do make some nice gear but for some reason it isn't really as fashionable as some of the other brands.

I had one of their 2012 fariway woods and I quite liked it. I only ended up going back to my MD as it had a stronger loft. I've just bought a Classic 290 driver, picking it up tomorrow so I'll let you know how I get on. I think I may have been bidding on the same one on ebay that you got. Did it have the indigo shaft?

New cleveland gear is the best I have seen.

The Classic XL driver bad shot is 20 yards past my 3 wood and in the light rough, a good shot just goes miles straight!

Its a cracking low spin driver IMO

Wedges going in the bag pretty soon too!
