Hi all,

Looking at upgrading my wedges to a set of these, anyone have any experience with them that they'd like to share?

Personally my wedge play is probably the worst part of my game, so thinking maybe the GI aspect of them may help

Simple but boring answer would be to get some lessons on your wedge play. New clubs are not going to help a flawed technique

I have done, There was nothing particularly wrong with my technique, just confidence pulling off the shots.

I am also currently using the wedges that came with the iron set I use, hence the looking at getting a specific set of wedges

My pp on a Saturday bought 2-3 CBX wedges, 2 looks pretty similar. He struggled with wedge play, struggled to get loft. These made a huge difference to his game. He hits far more good shots now, he gets loft that he previously didn't get. His experience is only positive.

Cleveland are good wedges and like you I never like the SW in particular that comes with a set so a specialist wedge set makes sense. I got a 52 and 58 degree but kept the PW which is 46 degrees. I think once we are out of lockdown the answer would be to find somewhere where you can hit a few different styles

These sit right between your set wedges and the specialist" Vokey" blade style.
I think more people should use these types of wedges rather than the bladed style.
Especially if youre hitting normal, fullish shots with them.
Callaway have just released a similar club Mack Daddy CB and that gets good reviews as well.

A wedge with a lot of bounce may help, especially in the wet, winter conditions, so the the CBX2 may be of value.
Especially if you hit them heavy/fat.

Bought a 56* 12 bounce (I think) just before the courses closed, so only got a single range session with it.

Impressions from the 20 odd balls I hit were A. it added a hell of a lot of loft compared to my previous SW. B. Very little run from the ball after landing too. It has a nice weight to it and a deep face, which I imagine helps spin.

Will be purchasing a gap wedge in the near future.

They look great, if I was getting new wedges now I'd probably look at them. I have Cleveland's but RTX's, and I love them anyway. I only see good reviews of the CBX's, and Cleveland wedges in general are very good.

I’ve been thinking about purchasing a few of these so this is a well timed thread

Me too (just the one though)

Got my eye on a 50° as a gap wedge option that's in the pro shop just now that'll sit perfect between the loft on my PW & SW, have shown it to my good lady so hopefully it 'disappears' from the shelf in the next week or so

I was looking at these two but saw the new Calloway Mack Daddy CB wedges which look great too. When retail opens up again in Glasgow going to try both out before buying.
