Clattenburg cleared by FA

By who ? the FA ? No not realy as anyone with a grievence has a right to have it investigated ,

Clattenburg could very well do them tho for defimation , loss of earnings (if any) , etc ..

Was a bit of a mad case from day 1 tho wasnt it ?

Chelsea, the laughing stock of world football.

Doing all they can to defend a (possibly) racist captain, accusing a referee of the same offence then backing down when they realised their evidence was based on Juan Mata admitting he was told what to say by Bruce Buck. Then the sacking of a manager that delivered what they ultimately wanted to replace him with one thats a perenial tinkerer!

If I were Clattenburg I'd seek action against Chelsea

Thats a shame, his last 3 weeks performances have been his best ever......

Even if he's been cleared by the police, and now the FA,his name and character have been tarnished.
If it were me,i'd be speaking to my legal team about taking action.Questioning the refs decision is fair enough, but to accuse somebody of racism is very very serious, more so for a person in Clattenburgs position.
Every time his name is mentioned, peoples first thought will be "isn't he the ref who was accused of racist comments".
Chelsea, and the other big clubs seem to think that they are above the law, another example of how money has ruined the game.

I hope he does. Chelsea deserve it. Mind you, pollonium 210 on his whistle if he causes trouble!

As everything the ref says is on the same channel as the assistant referees, you instantly have 3 witnesses who know what was said .

Im surprised it took so long to clear up and I think that Chelsea were ill advised to complain in the first place.

I really hope he doesnt get any grief from the terraces when he does return

Fragger

Quote from the BBC -

'Referees' union Prospect, on behalf of Clattenburg, are asking Chelsea for a full apology and compensation.'

Can anyone see Chelsea apologizing ?

IMO this was an obvious atempt by Chelski to intimidate referees. If no action is taken against them then yet another nail is driven into the nearly completed coffin that is premiership football.

I think most people did not belive the allegation, so in my mind he is a falsely accused ref rather than one with a tarnished reputation.

If the allegation can be shown to be vexatious, i.e knowingly or demonstrably false, then the FA should throw the book at the player. Making a false charge of racist behaviour is a very serious matter and should not go unpunished.

Bunch of idiots some people on here. I do not believe for a second that anyone as professional as a referee would say something as disgusting as what was alleged to have been said. What could be the case though is that with his limited knowledge of English is that Ramires or Luiz may have misheard what was said or got lost in translation. Chelsea obviously felt it their duty as an employer to follow up the complaint and thats what they did. So how is it their fault? Take your Chelsea hating blinkers off for a minute and try to see things from both sides for a change. The person I do feel sorry for though is Mr Clattenberg as he obviously didnt say anything but Chelsea had to protect their player at the end of the day.

Misheard/misunderstood/bad translation? Any of those situations and you don't carry on insisting that the referee made a racist comment if you're not absolutely certain.

Its amazing what you think or believe is heard though when you go over and over things in your mind. All it takes is 1 person to say he thought he heard something was said and it starts your mind racing doesnt it?

What should of happen rather than rushing into a sour grapes complaint within an hour of a feisty controversial loss they should of talk the whole thing through properly, when 4 people closer than the accuser hear d nothing and he can't remember exactly when he heard the falsely alleged remark bells should start ringing.
They realised with the Spanish remark it was unfounded and don't quite understand why the racist case got so far either.
It has made chelski look rather poor to say the least.
