Cheating----------------------What would you do??

It comes across to me as a friendly game, why can't he just drop a ball to speed up play? However, if it's for money or a club competition it's a completely different kettle of fish.

If the latter you really need to engage him during or just after don't let the moment slip.

A sad and sorry tale.

Very difficult for you given the personal and business relationship.

Can you arrange a game with some mates who you can brief beforehand and who wouldn't mind taking one for the team and confronting him when it next happened?

Alternatively work it into a conversation that the cub is red hot on the rules, full of old school pedants who get people banned for the slightest transgrssion - make John Paramor look like a Las Vagas boxing panel etc. Might get him to clean up his act.

thanks for all the help guys really appreciate it. I think I will have a word with my uncle and go from there. Dont think I will play with him again though

Is the right thing to do. You don't want your name to be associated with any cheating. As someone earlier said, he's not a golfer.

If he's in the crap 5-10 times a round he isn't a very good golfer, let alone scratch. I couldn't play to 9 if I spent that long in the cabbage.

I think as has been said before, you'll have to sign him in, explain the situation to the secretary and let them deal with the cheating.

Does your uncle know he's a cheat?

Such a dodgy situation.

Sign him in and send him out with the best players at the club.

Let them find him out.

Ash!!

His game is actually brilliant, he is a very gifted golfer but its his driving that lets him down. He creates a very big fade off his driver but hits it a mile, this is where he has the problem of finding the rough. If he actually worked on his driving he prob would play off close to scratch because he is that good at everything else.

I actually discussed it with my uncle today and as it happens he had noticed the exact same as me. He obviously cant say anything to him but will not be playing with him again and he has already warned the club as to what sort of guy he is.
