CH' 4 Now! Dont look down.

Is anyone watching this? :o
The guys crazy. Im not usually too bad with heights but I'm gripping the sofa watching this :D

Can't watch it - can't comprehend why you would do that

I had sweaty hands just watching, but when they walked out on the skeletal frame work on top of the tower block, wor lass looked away and why you would want to hang one handed off a crane with a 300 foot drop.....

why......?

Can remember seeing the rope access guys doing something similar whilst working on the Forth Bridge a few years back. just mental if you ask me.

Is it a thrill or is it just idiocy? I've never seen anything on the TV that has made me feel so nervous before. I swear that text at the end was written to make you think he died. "3 weeks later, English Plonker travelled to LA and climbed a crane".

It was one of the most weird hobbies I have ever seen.

…as they fall :roll eyes:
Oh, I'm not condoning it.
I work on the rails. You find the older guys that worked pre H&S just get the job done, but bend the rules. The newly trained guys work to the rules and never beyond and are always a pain to work alongside and are always looking for ways to knock the job.
Common sense and H&S never go hand in hand.

Few years back we had Sky dish fitted, said fitter had hard hat, full safety harness, the works. I asked why all the gear, he said H&S and that if his boss saw him doing the job without it on he would be fired. It took him longer to kit up than it did to drill the holes in the wall for the dish.

We ditched Sky a few years later and moved to Virgin, the guy came round and had to drill in order to put a cable into the back bedroom. HE asked if I had a ladder, but all I had was the fold out step ladder kind that make small ladder, he said they would do as long as I footed them for him. He told me he did have ladders on his van but was in a hurry, so he was standing on the top rung, leaning backwards, holding onto his drill. I think the only thing stopping him from falling from the ladder was that the drill was through th first brick and he was holding onto it. Totally different view as that to the Sky bloke.
