I'm getting pretty fed up with the cat(s) that use my garden as a toilet every night. None of the local cats that wander round have collars so the owners obviously don't care what they get up to.

Has anyone had any success at banishing cats from their garden?

An air rifle? I have the same problem, everytime I cut my grass I have to pick up at least 4 cat delights which is very annoying when you don't own one!

Go to your local zoo, if there is one, and ask for a bag of lion droppings. Work it into the soil, as you would manure. Whatever smell is in it, cats aren't keen. And your roses end up with foot long thorns!! Maybe the last bit isn't true

A few years ago, a friend of mine mentioned that he had the same problem. I told him I has seen an advert in one of those booklets you used to get in the post that were full of things you didn't know you needed. One of them was for lion droppings to keep cats out of your garden. He asked me to send off for it and he would pay me. I rang him when it arrived and arranged to meet at the golf club. He pulled his car up to mine, having put his clubs on the back seat, expecting a big bag of doodahs. I handed him a box the size of a bag of sugar. I never did find out if it worked.

Try googling lion s**t - I bet it's still on sale.

PS

Just found it on Amazon!

Water pistols are good if you catch them in the act. Have to be high power though. Or chuck a shoe

You can buy electronic cat repellants for a few quid. Not sure how effective they are but got to be worth a try?

My Mum has a few of these spread around her, admittedly quite big, garden..
They seem to work but we've put obstacles in the cats way - netting, works.

And you can train a cat to use a litter tray but if it doesn't want to use it there's nothing on earth you can do to make them use it.

Get your own cat!

It's a 'territory marking' thing that doesn't happen when there is a 'resident' cat.

Cats are almost always ultra-clean in their own area!

We have two cats and two litter trays. The litter trays never gets used by either of them. The old cat (16) goes in our own garden!! The youngster disappears into the cow field.

A guy opposite us has those electronic devices but I have actually seen a neighbours cat squat down next to it.
