Carpet putting?

I always like to see the follow through longer than the backswing.
Think,... if the backswing is 3MPH, the downswing is 4MPH and always longer than the backswing

I have slowed my take away down and it seems to have helped keep the ball online. My stroke feels good now. My biggest problem with my putting has been that I am a chicken, I leave everything short but I cant keep giving shots away like that.

Consistently leaving it short could be down to decelerating the putter head. Try and keep the same speed back and through, and just increase the length of your stroke. A lot of people i play with seem to have one length of stroke,and especially on short putts quit on the stroke.

I have a metronome that I sometimes use when practising. Set on about a 1 sec rep, good for getting a rythym established. (Cost about £10 in a music shop).

Not much good for line though (so many 3 putts this morning!) must get the CD out, though after a while I try putting to a 10p coin.

I think im going mad, I have been hitting sweet 6-8 foot putts for days but I cant make a 3 foot putt for toffee. Can that even be posable.
