Car parking charges.

Sorry , but that just creates a "princess"
You guide them and support them, not give in to them every time.
Totally agree with you, im always the bad guy because I only give in if it's earned or deserved nit because ita wanted or because they're girls.. Yet they know im the first one they can come to if in trouble ir done something wrong because i will tell them straight but offer my help and guidance to enable them to correct things for themselves.

Chorley actually realised that the parking charges were helping to kill the high street. You get free parking for about an hour now. Or go to one of the car parks slightly further away and it goes up to 2 or 3 hours.
Great for shoppers

In Nottingham we have a Work Place Parking Levy.
Introduced in 2012 any business, with 11 or more employee parking spaces, has to pay effectively a tax for each space. This year it is about £420 per space.
Most businesses pass this on to employees !
The money is ring fenced to offset congestion challenges.
So far the city have built the tram system and have an ongoing plan to change the road network and improve the bus services.
As a result congestion has reduced and air quality improved.
Lots of other cities are looking at the initiative - especially in Scotland.

Tram system in Edinburgh was a disaster at building stage, millions over budget and the Leith link stopped.
Years on the Leith Link is being finished so airport/bank HQ's/city centre to dock should work well.
When we visit Edinburgh we always stay/park at Parkway and take the tram, very relaxed way of doing things.
