Watched a fair few hours of the BMW Int and like another couple of events recently they had added recorded 'canned' bird noises over the broadcast and played it across almost the entire live broadcast

It gets pretty annoying after a wee while

Does anyone think its a nice feature that enhances the programme and do you think The Open will get the same 'treatment'?

Hopefully this won't be required...

Are you sure they were canned sounds edited in? At this time of the year, singing birds are pretty omnipresent. Even now in the office in an industrial estate in the middle of a city, I can hear them through the window at all times. Much more so on the golf course. I doubt that any sound editing is needed.

I managed to watch enough coverage to hear the loop :D and I don't pretend to know much about birds but don't different ones sign at different times of the day

Also they were still signing their beaks off when it was lashing it down on the Saturday!
