I'm not validating the guys research, but isn't this how all disaster movies start? A lone scientist, ploughing away at some hidden research station, suddenly finds that the World is about to end... And no one believes him...

Well, based on my extensive research (everyone loves a good disaster flick), then I reckon there's a bloody good chance that this is true!

Pedantically - Christmas is not cancellable...that none of us might be around to celebrate it is quite another thing :)

Even more pedantically, Christmas is most definitely cancellable. It's a man-made holiday. We could all just choose not to celebrate it and poof - cancelled..

Oh, and being even more pedantic, cancellable isn't a word! ;)

I'll be very annoyed if this guy is right and the world does end next week, we've got our works Xmas do on the 16th and I've already paid for it

It’s absolutely man-made. Jesus was actually born in March... I can’t remember all the detail but for some reason the celebration was moved to December... probably to beat the Christmas rush.

Christmas got moved to December so they could start the Christmas sales in October and put up extra lighting in November when it gets dark.
