Can tiger be beaten?

Watch, enjoy and stop grumbling about it, it's just incredible.

I can't.
I haven't got SKY anymore

I watched it last night on a link on the other thread, which worked perfectly.

And I'll be the first to say that Tiger isn't the best ever seen, that he isn't infallable. That our guys have got as much natural talent, and as much chance as he has.

Only one problem. When he's in this form he's untouchable.

He's got that swagger going. I haven't seen him this happy with his game for years.

Unless he falls apart mentally, he will walk it. Deservedly.

Anyone who doesn't enjoy watching golf of this quality is just letting their bias spoil it for them.

It was fantastic viewing last night, and I'm sure it'll be as good tonight. Maybe not as spectacular, but golf isn't just about tearing the course apart.

And anyway. If our guys start attacking Tiger, maybe he'll have to go up another gear anyway.

I think it's a brilliant leaderboard, with some interesting players in the mix. All almost certainly fighting for 2nd spot.

:D

The usual boring 3 iron will return ending any hope of a decent major final day.

So what would you do in Tiger's situation? Get the driver out and risk spraying it all over the place? If the 3-iron gets the job done then so be it.

He's got a lead, if he's got any sense - and he's got it in bucket-loads - he'll play the percentages. He knows he'll make birdies, he's got to stop the bogeys.

Its up to the rest to catch him not up to Tiger to give them a chance.

And yes. If he plays like he has done for the last 2 days then he'll win.
well said

Oh I do hope so. He is a brilliant brilliant golfer, but it's becoming the EXPECTATION that he will win, a bit like Man.U in football!

I hope someone can mount a late run

Tiger is not obliged to provide a close finish to the tourney or to give other, lesser golfers a chance. If he wants to use a peashooter off the tee to protect his hard-earned lead, so be it.
Agreed. If he leaves his big clubs in the bag and wants to dink it round with a 5 iron....so be it.

Maybe he and brendy should team up. They could prove to us all that drivers are the work of the devil!

"It's not how, but how many"

(shock, horror) did I really say that!! :)

How is for folk off 12 who want to know where it's all going wrong. Don't know many of them then.... :o

OP.... 'Can Tiger be beaten?' .............Yes he can.
But when he is putting in a top drawyer performance, it will take the rest of the field to put in their best golf on every hole and every shot, and get a little lucky!

He can be beaten, as he has been beaten before, but when any golfer is in the groove they are hard to beat, its just that Tigers groove is seemingly longer than most :D.

Although today - so far - Tiger sems to have a "V" groove while everyone else seems to have a "square" one!
I still think he'll win.
But I'd love it if Big Ernie gets the job done.

He is making the odd mistake to give the pack some hope but then people like Westwood chuck a double in to give him some space. Paddy is playing well though and hope he can mount a charge. If there are only two or three shots in it and its Woods v Paddy - the rematch - I fancy Paddy to grind it out

Yes, they were great

Seriously, I'm not a Tiger fan but I have watched the whole PGA so far on American TV and I have to say he's been a joy to watch. I just wish my man McIlroy was on better form and the two could play each other, now that would be a game to watch.

Harrington will give him a run though, I hope.

Im getting the feeling those at 3 and 4 under are still in with a great shout now that tiger hasnt come out of the blocks running.

Pity Rory had a bad first hole otherwise his round so far has been excellent.
