Can anyone identify this?

Sorry, I seem to be having tech withdrawl...

Clicking on the jpg file name downloads it on MY pc, which I can then click on and pic appears - but that may be because I'm the 'owner'.

I don't seem to be able to 'Attach' the file (file name gets crossed out)

Anyway, neighbour cracked the nut and there are no seeds inside - just some dried up creamy-white stuff. So could be a Horse Chestnut that somehow became blackenrd.

Plane tree seed pods look similar to horse chestnut pods but have lots of smaller seeds inside.

Without seeing the photo walnuts are very similar to horse chestnut. Fleshy outer just like the conker with teh nut inside
