Caddy after playing?

After playing in the morning of a stroke play comp, is there any reason why a player can't caddy for another competitor in the afternoon?

Doesn't seem right. If the rules deem caddy and player to be 'as one', then the caddy playing in the morning is 'as one' the player playing in the morning?
