Not sure if people saw this sad incident.. This was a case which got filmed, but i am assuming there are plenty up and down the country that dont get filmed. Reminder this is 2020 and we are supposed to be a tolerant society. The school
The school in question issued a statement including 'We have taken swift, immediate and appropriate action, including sanctions and targeted intervention for the perpetrators. A police investigation is ongoing, and we are co-operating fully."

(distressing image of kids fighting)

Unfortunately typical appalling response by the school - instead of dealing with the bully with necessary response, produce a PR-induced response that will do nothing at all to alleviate the situation.

I’m not sure what else you wanted the school to say ?

What is the “neccesary” response they haven’t done

makes me sick. Irrelevant what the school are saying etc, seeing those lads, they are year 7 or 8 at best, that's 11-13 years old kids. Racism is not ingrained in kids from birth, it is taught (Or at least copied).

Disgusting. You have to look at the parents who have taught their children gang up on other kids to be bullies.

I don't see any racist behaviour in the video clip, however, although that doesn't mean this isn't a race driven incident.

Full statement by the School

Lack of audio so cant say what is being shouted. Secondly, unfortunatly the boy being hit has his Sikh turban removed and his hair being pulled.. A turban is one of the central tenets of the Sikh religion.

As you and rooter said, you have to think what atmosphere the (bully) child living in to drive such a behaviour. While i dont condone his behaviour, given his age, I hope he get equal amount of support to overcome this. It would be sad if he is not given an opportunity to correct himself. Meanwhile the school and parents are a differnet matter.

I don't understand why anyone would want to watch it. Publicise the incident yes but I for one won't be watching it.

The modern society and apparent thirst to see this sort of thing going on

Camera phones everywhere, peolle playing up to the camera to make themselves “viral” and “famous” etc

Only have to look at some of the stuff kids can play on computer games which are very much lifelike this days

Have the parents taught the behaviour, or have these kids picked it up from being in the wrong company at school?

I'm aware of parents who have made every effort to bring up kids the right way but the kids have still turned out wrong despite that.

Sorry I can't agree with that. I went to a school full of hard-core racist people. It was Durring the days when the NF was popular. Despite me sitting next to them, playing football and even socialising with them I still knew right from wrong. That comes from parents

Just because a parent "made every effort". That doesn't mean their effort was right or enough

And I know kids who despite being taught right from wrong by their parents still chose wrong. Yes, maybe you didn't get turned by them; are you sure no one else was turned by them?

How do you know that these children where taught right from wrong? Parents do their best and fully believe they're doing their best too. That doesn't mean what they are being taught or the manner in which they are being taught is correct. In my opinion if you're child is a racist bully then you have failed as a parent.

Personal and professional experience is how I know.

You might have failed as a parent if you know your child is a racist bully, but how many children act differently outside the home from in it? Quite a number is my experience.

Wheather you know or not is irrelevant. As a parent it's your responsibility to install morality and values into your child and make sure they go out into the world with a good moral compass. I'm not saying that parents purposely do a bad job. They did their best.
I'm sure when my daughter grows older I'll be held accountable to these words but "as I see it". My daughter is on the right track. Time will tell?

Completely agree.

I recognise that it's not possible to know every fact about your children, but if you are a good parent you have instilled in them a set of values which means they wouldn't get involved in anything like this. Regardless of peer pressure.

Sorry but that’s not right

A parent can do everything in their power to try and teach their child right and wrong but at times they are powerless to stop a child rebelling - that’s not failing and at times it’s not right to point the finger at the parents.

Big difference between rebelling and being a racist bully, or doing anything that causes severe pain or distress to another person.

Is there some sort of boundaries set out in regards what constitutes rebelling then ?

Teenagers now have access a whole world of hatred on social media , it doesn’t take much for them to act on it without the parents even knowing - world has changed since we were kids , hatred is everywhere , the likes to Tommy Robinson are main stream , even Ukip and Brexit have helped created hatred - teenagers easily can pick those attitudes up
