Broadband Usage..How av i used so much???

:angry: Just changed over to bt on 17/7/12..

Got an e-mail off them today saying i was near my 10Gb usage limit

So in 2 weeks ive used this,only use to surf net,d/load is very minimal,maybe odd music track,dont do any movie d/loads..

So come start of next month will av switch off for last 2 weeks at this rate or pay for more,any1 any idea what ave usage is???

Are you using a wireless router?

Is it encrypted?

If you're doing as you say and your wireless isn't encrypted, sounds like someone is "piggy-backing" your connection (If you are on wireless) for their downloads.

Yeh im on bt hub thingy :lol:

As far as i know its encrypted(not that good at this side of things)

Is there a way of checking???

Do you do much streaming of video or audio? Its not just downloading that uses bandwidth. Youtube and spotify are massive bandwith suckers.

BT website should allow you to log in to an account area where you can check useage.

10gb isnt a lot these days as youtube, iplayer etc will soon suck it all up. ring em up and go on unlimted its about 4 quid a month more.

I had to do the same thing for my mum & all she uses is email, facebook games and iplayer

WE got our BT bill yesterday,dont have a house phone anymore,nothing at all other than internet, bill was £63.29!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On bt option 2 , but used 15gb over that,
paying for unlimited anytime calls
internet phone ,that has never been used
digital vault plus??? whatever that is.

HID sorted the phone bill, not anymore, weve been paying this much for months.
