I stay away from anyone other than the main AA or RAC as I've had too many poor experiences with unknown companies that don't have their own fleet and 100% look for local subbies to assist. I've been left stranded for over 8 hours throughout the night as they have no control if subbies aren't available!!
Its always worth paying for the AA imo, I think my personal account was only £29 the first year but I've now got a fleet cover due to my business.
I personally (whilst respecting what Fish said) don't think you can go wrong with getting a nationwide (or other banks) paid for accounts... I pay nationwide £13 a month for a joint account with my wife
before we moved in together the account had £0 every month and just topped up by £13 to pay the fee but now is used
anyways for that £13 (£156 a year) you get the following
break down cover for 2 cars (if joint account.. if single then just 1 car) its pretty inclusive cover its well above basic
phone insurance for the household (yourself, partner and dependent kids).. worldwide cover that is..
and world wide muilti trip travel insurance
now for £156 a year I don't think you need anything more than that in your life!
