I was scheduled to do my driving test on Friday(which i booked back in July) but got cancelled about a month ago for no apparent reason , due to a small patch of ice outside the test centre. Couldnt they just go outside and just grit that small patch? F*cking pathetic if you ask me . Now i have to wait until March time to be able to do it

It's not their fault- it's the fault of Health and Safety.
They're not allowed to put themselves at undue risk. Obviously, there's a certain amount of risk in taking a learner out on a test but if there's ice about they can't risk you skidding, crashing and demolishing cars.
Frustrating I know but they have to preserve the integrity and standard of the test, and if in teir opinion it's not possible, they'll cancel.
We've had similar issues down here. The main problem was the side roads. Although with the new Independent driving they do most of the driving is done on bigger roads, they still have to get onto a side road so you can do your manoevre. If these are iced up, you can't do it.

If they cancel the test, they should give you the next available time. If the one they give you doesn't suit then get online and look for cancelation times - they do come up but you have to be quick.

Can they not put you on the list for a cancellation?

Bummer

Mind you, some of the roads are still in a bit of a state with piles of snow and cars abandoned 5' from the kerb so it's maybe not the best of times to be sitting your test.

Aye. Not the best time to be driving, nevermind sitting a test, Owen. I realise it's a major bummer having to wait til March so just hassle them for a cancellation. Best of luck when it comes.
