I am considering possibly joining this club early next year. Has anyone played it recently and can shed a light on how the course is and plays?

I started a reply last night, but didn't go ahead as I didn't want to put a downer on your choice of course.

Blairbeth is the only course where I've ever been shot at :D

There was also a hole, 10th or 11th where you had a long walk into a corner to play your tee shot. You had to take you clubs back on to the tee if you wanted to bve sure of seeing them again.

Nice enough course the last time I played though :D

If you can afford it AVOID AVOID AVOID. Cathkin Braes is awesome, and there are a few other tracks not that far away.

Totally agree. Lived al my days on the Soo'side and wouldnt play "Beth" if u paid me. Some of the tracks in southside are expensive to join but worth it once you in ( although a bit old school) Get yourself up to Mearnscastle. A nice wee 9-holer, no joining fee & only £350 odd per year. We have medals every second Sat and a weekly Tuesday challenge comp. Relaxed atmosphere with Hcaps ranging from 4 to 28. Fully floodlit range onsite along with shortgame practice area all included in the price!!

Job done for low cost friendly golf
