With only hours until the inaugural GM staff versus GM forumers contest at St Andrews Jubilee tomorrow, who's prepared to predict a result?
There are two fourballs so the score is going one of 5 ways for the Forumers; 0-2, 0.5-1.5, 1-1, 1.5-0.5 or 2-0.
The GM staff have a much lower average handicap so we're (forumers) hoping the combination of a few shots, the fact 3 of the GM staff have a 3.45am start and some good old Scottish seaside weather (forumers are all Scottish, GM staff are only 1/4 Scottish) will swing things our way. It's the proverbial David v Goliath; can the down at heel forumers pull of a shock??
The tension is palpable!!

The Scottish are masters of the underdog victory so I am seeing smiles on the faces of the Forumers tomorrow night.

Im gonna go for the Forumers.
Good local knowledge,Hardened to the weather and im sure there will be some friendly Barracking.

COME ON THE FORUMERS :)

lol madandra.
Best of luck to you and the lads.

Im sure you will get away with a bit of sledging as im sure you will be given some.(All in the best possible taste of course)
Enjoy your day Mate

Enjoy the game guy's and I hope the weather holds for you. My money is on the Forum, The scots are seasoned winter golfers and know there way around links greens!!

Good luck to all taking part tomorrow. I can imagine the brown paper bags inflating and deflating like crazy right now! :D (from another thread)

Doesn't matter who wins as long as the day is enjoyed by all.

Evening all

GM pairings have been decided as are me and Paul O'Hagan and Jezz Ellwood and Fergus Bisset - trying to blend youth and experience, grit and flair. Hope we're ready for what the forum boys and then Scottish weather is going to throw at us!

I think it's going to be a very close match

Been getting very excited getting all my gear ready this evening, packed about 8 gloves and three towels along with pretty much every waterproof item I own!

Flight bag now by the front door, clothes laid out in the spare room so I don't disturb Mrs H too much, alarm set for 4am

Off now to get an early night with the Jubilee course guide!

No doubt there may be a small discussion regarding the match tomorrow evening.

cheers

MikeH

Oh God Bisset's playing.. good luck forumers you'll need it. However are we viewing this as Forum V GM or Scots V English (and one very good Scot)? If it's F V GM I'll go with my heart not my head and say Up The Forum.

Good luck all.

Sounds a real laugh.

Anyone going to be taking photographs so the rest of us southern softie types can at least get a flavour of what went on?
