Pink Floyd - High Hopes from Division Bell, only bettered by the live performance on Pulse from Earls Court.
Also the intro and outro to Sorrow from Momentaey Lapse of Reason.

Dave Gilmour is probably the most Under rated guitarist ever IMO.

Under rated by whom? He is always right up there in Guitarist magazine's top players.

It shows that you don't need to play a thousand notes per second to be classed as a top player.

By most outside of the guitar magazine reviews.
How many people on here mentioned any of his work? You see these types of post on many forums and similar discussions and it's the usual suspects that get named, Hendrix, Clapton, Slash etc etc, all excellent guitarists and that should definitely be recognised. But Gilmour doesn't feature highly on many individual's lists that I have seen.

All good points Greig, but Floyd are a band that have somehow sold millions of records without really becoming mainstream. I guess there a bit like Rush in that respect... I think what I'm trying to say is that Dave Gilmour (and Alex Lifeson) are pretty well respected amongst guitarists and (This is going to make me sound like a real snob) real music fans.

I get what you mean Paul, I'm by no mean a fan of rock and o-roll music (Rev Tim Lovejoy ), but always liked Floyd and in particular the way Gilmour could make a chunk of wood sing like that.
I must be one of them real music fans to which you refer :thup:
