Hi All,

Last nights title decider was my 360th watched grand prix and I think it may have been the best. It was not even the outcome I wanted but it was just unreal.

Anyone agree or disagree?

Alex

I havent watched a full one all season. however, i was glued to the TV for the last 30 laps when i stumbled upon the F1. I do love it when its exciting due to the weather!! Is there anyone better than JB in the rain?

Michael Schumacher!!

Are any exciting?

It puzzles me how anyone can get excited about a "sport" that has the start and tyre changing as it's main events.

Sorry buddy, if you did not see the race then...... why come in and bash it? I dont write posts called football is rubish or go into post about football and say how rubish I think it is.

Here's me thinking speech was free in this country, no?

I wasn't actually having a pop,enlighten me,genuine question.

Loved the bit where Waterboy jumped on the back of his RedBull and pretended to ride it - metaphor for a career?

Fantastic race! Hopefully Ferrari & McLaren can step up for Alonso & Button otherwise it's Vettel winning until Adrian Newey retires!

Yea there seemed to be stuff going on all over the place throughout the race , when you see the visability out of the on board camera ya wonder how visability the drivers have , i know they are lower & the aerodynamics takes alot of the rain up over them & the have the rip offs on the visors but racing in the rain must be fair hard

Having been around a bit longer than yourself I believe I have seen a few better GP's... But I have to agree yesterdays GP was right up there and a fitting finale to a fine season...

Still think Alonso is the better driver though! 'The Finger' needs to show his worth in another team before I accord him any kind of rating against any of my previous 'greats'...

Hulkenberg didn't look too shabby and Lewis is no slouch in the wet either... But yes, JB does have a knack of keeping it altogether when the conditions are 'variable'...

Hulkenburg didn't look too shabby until he went into a wet corner too quick and took out hamilton..... How is that not too shabby?!! the idea is to finish the race without crashing!!

As JustOne points out [above] without the intervention of the safety car period Hulkenburg had the race in his pocket... Believe the SC came out [NASCAR style] to improve 'the show' rather than H+S reasons... I did agree though that JB does have 'the knack' ;)...

No no, your right, it is, I am just not sure that if I did not like F1 I would open a post about it. Not really having a pop either... I love F1 more than anything bar golf so its hard for me to pass that onto you. I don't have the same experience as you as I spent 12 years as a race director and love racing.

I think Alonso got the safety car out so he could latch onto the back of the leaders but it seemed that it was a good idea as Vettel was pointing out debris to Charlie.

MegaSteve, I am sure I must have too, I am a life long Schumacher fan and Michael put some fine races in in his time but ye, it was a good one! (no I dont want to defend my Schumacher thing, it is what it is) =)

Yep, Hope for a different result next year, not a Vettel fan..

Who mentioned anything about disliking the sport? I just struggle to find the sport exciting as a whole, yes it can be on the odd occasion but by and large I find it lacking in thrills.

I am a speedway fan but again you can be subjected to many meetings that are not high on the thriller ratings especially if it's a poor track you find who comes out of bend 2 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th stay that way but on occasions you do get some thrilling spectacles with passing a plenty.

Having watched hundreds over the years also Alex,i have to say it was a very exiting race.
Up to the point where it was virtually obvious who the winner of the championship would be.
Although im not the greatest Vettel fan,i must admit he is a great driver.
How lucky was he to get through that crashed virtually unscathed.
My worry now is hes going to dominate for a few years.
Lewis and Mercedes will need at least 3 years.
McClaren arent consistent enough, and Ferrari are not fast enough
Jensons not good enough or consistent enough either.

All of this^^ But one thing, Jenson is good enough he just cant make it happen on a Saturday and that will heart McLaren.

Little photo of me and Jenson from back a few years.

Oh ye and Rob...

A combination of recent tech restrictions,DRS and Pirelli tyres have vastly improved F1 as a spectator sport.Red Bull clearly have an edge in performance over the other teams, but we have still had a number of different race winners this year, and yesterdays changing conditions, certainly spiced things up.
I feel rather sorry for Alonso,as i'm convinced he is the best of the current bunch of F1 drivers, but is sadly being held back by a slow car.Vettell is no slouch, but i think him and Webber are being flattered by a clear performance advantage over the other teams.
It will be interesting to see what happens next year, will Red Bull still have the best car, will Hamilton be able to compete in a Mercede's,will Button impress now that he's the obvious #1 at Mclaren ?
Roll on 2013.
