Best Golf Course NEVER to hold "The Open"

Opinions opinions but as a golf course it is second to none in Northern England.....just wish it would up it's game in conditioning but it's streets ahead as a golf course to either Silloth or Seaton Carew and those or the only two challenging.... Northern England is very short of quality golf courses in comparison to the rest of the UK.

Probably the worst place to live if your a golfer the north east of England.

????

Wrong course.....not true links and 17 a stupid hole??

Take yerself to one side.:mmm:

Yep that's what I said not a true Links and does not give you a feeling of Links golf, in fact the first hole is rather poor and it does not get much better after that either.

Seaton Carew....you are not wrong there,a total hovel.
The area seaton carew is in is a *****, I'll give you that. But the course is awsome.
Could be worse though, could be a member at goswick. Haha.

Do you just mean NE england or include NW as well? I agree NE hasn't many premier links courses.

NW England, totally different ball game.

Ha ha,clear wind up if you think it's not true links, either that or you are not very well educated in the game.

Next.

Have played links golf for years and Goswick IMHO is not a patch on most I have played gave it a second go just to see if I was wrong but was confirmed after the second game that it would not rank in my list anywhere. It has a couple of good par 3's but that was it.

You must be one of the guys who don't travel well outside your neck of the country.

North as in the line from Cumbria across to Durham and up.

Agree that south of Cumbria plenty to be found.....not so much on the eastern side sadly.

I really have to question how far you have actually traveled and what you understand to be Links Golf.....regardless of what you think about Goswick, no one with a correct mind could claim it is not true Links golf.

Keep looking and learning,it'll be an enjoyable journey.

It will be for sure as I will never play Goswick again.

Good stuff, another uneducated golfer not gracing the turf.

Not Links? Biggest laugh I have had since watching Cole miss that penalty.

Like I said you must not travel, try spreading your wings there are hundreds of courses out there on the east coast that are far superior to Gosshit, now I must go got an early start on a true Links in the morning.

Clown.

I challenge anyone that has played Goswick to back up this clowns claim that it isn't a Links Course.

Sometimes you just have to take a step back and shake your head at the uneducated.:smirk:

I would question the answer if they said yes and ask have they played many Links golf courses:o

Language gents, already had to clear this up once.
For the record, I understand Goswick is an Open qualifying links course. to say it isnt very good sounds strange.
